Most of us dream of winning the lottery.
So why isn't Rashaundra celebrating?

Let Alan read for you!

Dear Alan,

A couple of months back I won some money on the lottery. I guess you might say it’s more than luck. Maybe I’ve been blessed because this wasn’t the first time I won some money. My life’s not changed. I still go to work. It’s like this… I’m scared. I don’t want to be one of those people you read about in the papers, winning and then losing it all. What do you think I should do?

Thank you very much,

Rashaundra

Dear Rashaundra, The first thing that comes to my mind is that saying – be careful what you wish for as you might actually get it. And I sense that it’s particularly relevant in your situation. But let’s wait and see what comes through.

As I connect with your energy, my first impression is that you either come from a large family or that you have lots of people who depend on you. Now I’m not sensing that this is connected to work. So I’m going with family – and I’m being shown lots and lots of people.

Responsibility fell on your shoulders at a young age. This would have been when you were around 17 years old. It’s like your life was put on hold to take care of those around you. For some reason I want to say that you were not taking care of your parents. They’re not present. Instead you become a parental figure – a matriarch.

You have led, fed and clothed those who looked to you for nurturing. It’s been difficult – I sense that you haven’t done what you wanted to do for a long time. Your perspective is always what’s in their best interest.

I’m shown a cross and hands held as if they are in prayer. So I feel certain that you are very religious. Some of your family would question the fact that you even played the lottery.

Hope has always been a key part of your life and holding on to it is what’s pulled you through the hard times. And I sense that there have been hard times of late. Someone near you has struggled with an addiction.

You’ve prayed for them. In fact you’ve done a lot more than that. Now it’s up to them. I sense a lot of worry and anxiety in your energy. You don’t think they’ve kicked the habit. Let’s just say that from what I see they haven’t made much progress on their path to recovery.

And this is where your worry is coming from. I’m going to go out on a limb and say this person is your son. I sense you know how hard his struggle is going to be. And that’s one of the reasons why you’ve kept quiet about your win. You feel that if he found out about the money, then that would put you in an untenable position.

All your life you’ve followed your instincts. And you shouldn’t stop now. What I sense is that right now is not the time to bust open the piggy bank and let the winnings pour out. I would actually go as far as to say that I feel you’ve done the right thing by keeping your good fortune under wraps.

Keep your money safe and in a bank. It needs to be somewhere that you can get to it if need be. But out of sight is out of mind right now.

You’re entering a year of transformation. What’s worrying at present will be a memory in less than a year. Then you won’t need me to tell you that will be the time to spend yourself a little happy.

You won’t go mad and waste it all. That’s not who you are. Oh yes, hands will be outstretched but I feel that you’ve already dealt with that kind of behaviour.

And keep playing your numbers, I’m being told that Lady Luck isn’t finished with you just yet!

Good luck with everything.

With that, I wish you all the best.
