Second Sight

Judith Orloff had a traditional upbringing with all the comforts and advantages that her parents (both prominent physicians in Beverley Hills) could offer. Coming from what you would call a nice Jewish family, no-one could have suspected what was going on beneath the surface. Judith had a secret – she had the second sight.
At a very early age, Judith realised that she was different. It wasn’t simply that she was more sensitive than those around her. It was rather that her premonitions and prophetic dreams she experienced became her inner struggle and isolated her. So, her parents did what most Americans would do, they sent her to a therapist.
And without giving too much away, let’s just say that she was lucky enough to be referred to a certain group researching psychic phenomena in California. Ultimately, having learned to control her abilities, she followed in her father’s footsteps and became a psychiatrist in her own right.
In the first part of her autobiographical Second Sight, Judith shares with us her story of how she became aware of her so-called gift, got to grips with it and has come to rely on it as an integral tool in her work. Her style is engaging, eloquent and, most of all, believable.
And while we all have our own story, Judith believes that each of us has the potential to awaken the intiuitive (read psychic) that lies dormant in all of us. To that end, she offers straightforward exercises in meditation, prayer and dream interpretation in part two of her book.
