Contacting the Spirit World is an honest and inspiring account by a working medium about what she does and how she does it. Its audience need not be limited to those aspiring to become mediums as it is equally engaging to those merely interested in what happens when we die.
Williamson divides Contacting the Spirit World into two parts. In the first part, she describes the structure of the spirit world and how those who’ve not trained as mediums may inadvertently or spontaneously make contact with those in spirit. Here she covers such topics as spirit communication in dreams, visions, the hearing of voices as well as near-death and out-of-body experiences. The information she provides is at just the right level that the reader is assured that she knows of what she writes without it becoming onerous, overwhelming or tedious.
In the second part, Williamson provides expert guidance on how those who are so inclined and equally dedicated can take their initial steps toward becoming mediums themselves. To that end, she provides practical advice together with time-tested meditations and exercises.
Contacting the Spirit World is an excellent resource to have handy. It’s a book about mediumship by an experienced medium. She knows what she’s doing – been there, done that. But it’s when she relates her personal experiences that I feel the book truly comes into its own.
Williamson shines when she debunks the myths about mediums and explains the role that mediums have to play in the grieving process and how exactly mediums help those who have lost someone. She also deals with the topics of suicide and the death of a child with incredible delicacy and tact that only come from years of experience.
Whether you’re a budding medium or just curious, this book is definitely worth a read.
