Are you preparing or are you worrying?
Each morning I take a bus that makes its way through Central London. And although I'm naturally an early riser, I always seem to occupy myself with this or that until it's smack in the middle of rush hour. As a result, the bus is inevitably heaving. In fact, I often have to wait for at least two buses to pass before I can squeeze on.
Aboard I try to read but more often than not find myself distracted by the energy of those around me. Moments earlier I had been calm, but I suddenly find my mind racing trying to anticipate what's going to happen during the day. As I don't normally engage in such mental acrobatics, I have realised that I'm not trying to predict my own day. On the contrary, I am connecting with the energy of those around me who are so incredibly anxious that you can almost see the scenarios they are playing out endlessly in their heads.
What's going to happen? What if he says this? What if she does that? How am I going to manage if I lose this job? How much will I take home after my promotion goes through?
These are just a few of the impressions I sense during my daily commute. It's more or less the same every day. Some mornings are worse and others are better. But each day the majority of the passengers are engulfed in such continuous what-if loops.
When I first noticed this, I was very impressed that all these people were so analytical and proactive. By the time they would arrive at the office they would have played out every possible permutation of what could happen that nothing could surprise them. Let life have at them - they would be prepared. Absolutely!
Could I have been more wrong? Unlikely.
What I came to realise is that such thoughts weren't preparing my fellow passengers for their day at all. Instead they are filling themselves with dread and worry - which seemed to feed on itself until it could actually push them down their own slippery slope.
At school a teacher of mine used to preach what she called the five P's - Prior Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. To be sure, this is very practical advice - if not a wee bit corny. The people on my bus are not preparing. They are worrying. Instead of equipping themselves with the knowledge that could help them get through the day, they are surrounding themselves with the negativity of what might NEVER happen.
When you go for a psychic reading - whether it's with me or someone else, make sure you are going with an open heart to LEARN about your past and present as well as your future. While the information you receive from a reading motivated by fear and worry may be just as accurate as any other reading, what you do with the insights given will likely be marginalised.
In other words, Dear Readers, when you seek to know the future, be sure you seek such information with a positive and open heart in the spirit of love. With this attitude you will not only get the most from your reading, but you will leave prepared and worry-free.
Until next week,
Kindest regards,
