I would like to begin with a BIG thank you for all your emails of support this week!
As you may have noticed, your Scopes went off the air Thursday and Friday last week. The culprit? Well, I lay the ultimate responsibility squarely at Mercury's door. However, the actual direct cause was an unforeseen computer network fault preventing me from connecting to the site and to you via the internet.
While I was incommunicado, all I could do was to focus my energies on a quick resolution to a problem that I didn't see coming. But now that our regularly scheduled programming has returned I have had time to reflect on what may already be running through your minds.
Can psychics see into their own future?
Psychics spend their lives learning how to disconnect from the everyday hustle and bustle to attain a state of consciousness enabling them to read for clients and make predictions of what's to come. More often than not, we read for others. And while we do inevitably read for friends and family, it seems to work best when we have no personal connection or history with the sitter, which can cloud or influence the reading.
Every psychic I know has his or her opinion on whether or not we should read for ourselves. Most come down on the side of it not being all that effective. However, few agree on why psychics who make accurate predictions for clients can't do the same for themselves.
My personal take on why psychics can't read for themselves? Well, it's not limited to psychics. I believe it's difficult, if not impossible, for anyone to read for themselves. We are simply too close to our problems, our dreams, our hopes, our own life situations. And no matter how diligently we strive to attain objectivity, we just don't see it as clearly as a detached third-party can.
So does that mean that people either don't or shouldn't read for themselves? Of course not! There's much knowledge and self-awareness to be gained by seeking your own insight. However, there's a threshold of importance or a matter of degree that when tipped should be handed over to a professional psychic who has the distance, not to mention experience and integrity, to advise you.
For example, I was able to bring this perspective to a recent reading for a woman who had undertaken extensive personal research and self-exploration to understand what was behind her years of overeating and unsuccessful dieting. Despite her efforts, she could not get to the bottom of the matter. After her reading, she felt that she finally had an explanation that could empower her. Vivian has graciously allowed me to feature her reading in June's Ask Alan column, which you can read here.
Perhaps there's something you need similar assistance with. For you, I have now added a new selection of psychic services. Just click here and find the insight you've been seeking!
If you still aren't sure if a psychic consultation could help, why not email me and ask?
