When people come to me for readings, they want to know where they are going, what's next or whether their dream is just around the corner. My job, as I see it, is not only assessing the past and present to predict what is likely to happen in the future, but to offer specific and practical advice on how to arrive at my client's desired destination. This week I'd like to share with all of you an extremely simple, yet one of the most powerful tools you can use to create the outcome, the reality you want. It's called Visualisation.
We've all heard of it, but how many of us actively use visualisation on a daily basis to a positive end? I say "positive end" because too many of us employ this incredibly powerful tool in a self-limiting, or even self-destructive, manner. Just think about how many times you are running late and picture in your mind missing the bus or getting caught in a traffic jam. Unfortunately, these examples are often the only role visualisation plays in our lives.
Can daydreaming really lead to your happy ending?
Two words - YOU BET! Many of us aren't ready to accept that the energy we emit is returned to us by the universe - even though it is. As such, let's limit our discussion to something more tangible. Basically, it's like this. When you have an optimistic outlook, your attitude changes. Your perspective is different. You go after your goal with much more focus and efficiency.
We all know those people who just seem to attract success. Even when something bad happens to them, they always seem to bounce back. You want to know the difference between them and those who only seem to experience bad luck? In its simplest terms, it's down to what they choose to visualise!
So, how can you make visualisation work for you? The first, and perhaps the most difficult, step is to decide what you actually want. (Let's not forget that old saying to be careful what you wish for!) The second step is to picture what you want or where you want to be as if it had already happened. If you want a new job, see yourself in your mind's eye sitting at your new desk in that new office excelling in your new responsibilities. Similarly, if you are looking for love, then picture yourself in that happy, healthy and productive relationship. The key is to see yourself as having already achieved your goal.
With your goal identified and the picture of you having attained it, your next step is to hold this image in your mind for 10 minutes, remembering to keep yourself open to the belief that this exercise will work. It might not seem like a long time but your challenge will be to allow yourself to be swallowed up in the image, the emotions - all that you will be, once you have accomplished your goal. Then bring yourself back to the present and go about your daily routine. Allow yourself to forget about what you've done for the rest of the day. But each day block out 10 minutes for you to step back into the world that you seek to create.
If you repeat this exercise daily, you will empower yourself and you will change your life. It's that simple! I've seen it time and time again with my clients- and I even use it myself to achieve my own personal goals. However, if you're still not convinced, why not give it a go anyway? You only stand to lose 10 minutes from your day. And if it works, the return on your investment is immeasurable. As I see it, it's one of those rare "no lose" propositions. Try it for a month and let me know how you get on.
