Have you fallen back into that rut?
This past week I found myself asking a question out loud that I usually try to keep to myself. You know the one – it’s one that only old people are supposed to ask. Where do the time go? There it was – out there and there was no taking it back. Of course, no-one took any notice of it or the unfair significance I had attributed to it. And so to exorcise my little demon, I’ll ask it again. Where does the time go?
We will soon advance our calendars another month. And just like that, we’ll be in May. It doesn’t seem like it’s been a full four months (or 120 days) since the start of the new year, but there you have it. In a few short days, one third of 2006 will be behind us.
Perhaps that’s why so many of my readings this past week have focussed on what I call “top ups”. These are the readings that people come to me for when they want to verify that they are on the right path. These are the “in between” readings. You see, they get a big reading at a major turning point – like on a birthday or with something significant has happened. I read for them on those occasions and give them guidance. They go on their way, but many of them like to come back, say 5 or 6 months later, for what you might consider a psychic top up. Has anything changed? Are they on course? Have they learned their lessons or overcome their challenges? You get the idea.
And this week it seemed like I reconnected with people who had experienced bursts of creative energy earlier in the year only to fall back into the same old routines that they were trying to break free from. So I found myself wondering:
Can creativity coexist with habit?
Creativity is that force which drives us to produce something – something new, something fresh, something alive. It’s the need we feel to contribute and give back. Whether you play the piano, write poetry, grow vegetables in your garden or cook a special dinner after work, we have all experienced the desire to create. To my mind, it’s creativity and not money that really makes the world go round.
Our creative energies drive us into internal and often subconscious dialogues in which we examine the status quo and hold it up to the vision of our dreams. It’s what then compels us into action to resolve the discrepancies. Our creativity prods us into changing our reality – to make it something other than what it is today.
Whether we live in a city of millions or on a farm miles away from your nearest neighbour, life conspires against us to coax us into a routine. It just happens. Each of us has our own pattern of actions, thoughts and behaviour – even relationships. We develop these habits – and then we cling to them for dear life.
So why do we do it? Well, we align ourselves so closely with our habits that we even become to see them as part of our identity. They are familiar. They are known. They are safe. And we do it because all of us struggle with our deepest darkest fear – change.
And change is the very essence of creativity. The process of production alters the current state. What was is now different. It propels us into confronting the potential of chaos, which means we have to wrestle and get to grips with something that we don’t know. We have to go into the dark room and turn on the lights.
I’ve recently come to conclude that habit and creativity are at odds with each other and are mutually exclusive. It then follows that if we are just going through the motions, then our creativity is not flowing. It means our creativity is blocked.
Right about now, some of you might be shrugging your shoulders and saying, “Big deal. So what?” Well, it’s actually a very big deal. Ignoring your creative energy can lead to the breakdown of relationships. It can keep you from getting a promotion. It can cause you to feel depressed. It can even kill you. Pretty shocking, I admit. But it’s true.
Now like so many things in life, it’s a matter of degree. How we use our creativity is one of our greatest challenges. Because, you see, it’s not enough to merely be conscious of our creativity. We have to use our creativity in positive ways. So take this helpful hint – creative manipulation of another to get what you want is not using your creativity wisely!
Do you feel that your creativity isn’t flowing as it should? Or, like some of the people I’ve been reading for this week, have you pulled yourself up out of a rut only to fall back into it? Then perhaps, a reading could help you. Sometimes all we need is someone to help spur us on or put us back on the right track. You might just not be able to see the wood for the trees. Another’s insight or guidance could be just the ticket.
Through my psychic readings together with my holistic health services such as my Medical Intuitive Assessments, I offer my clients insights into what’s working and what’s not working for them. I empower them to take control by highlighting their negative belief patterns and by pointing out the energetic consequences in their lives. I even work one-to-one to get them back on track via my life coaching.
How’s your life going? Are you where you want to be? Or are you depressed or stuck in a rut? Perhaps a reading or an intuitive assessment could help. Have a look at my psychic readings here and my holistic health services here, including my Intuitive Life Coaching. Isn’t it time you empowered yourself to take control of your life?
Meanwhile, over at IntuitiveBridges The Chakra Series is well underway. This week marks the third instalment and it’s all about sex, money and power! We progress beyond the energy of the First Chakra in which we were part of a group. With the Second Chakra, we are seduced into leaving the safety of the walled garden for the big bad world. Do we sink? Or do we swim? And how do we relate one-on-one with those we encounter on the outside? This is what I call the you-and-me chakra. Read my article in full and then consider your own relationship with power!
As always, feel free to email me with any comments, suggestions or feedback on PsychicBridges.
Thanks again for all your support and until next week,
Kindest regards,
