The job of a psychic is one of trust and confidence!
This is the week of the almighty tidy-up. Christmas decorations start to come down. The signs of New Year’s celebrations are swept away. Trees still sparkling with remnants of tinsel sit on the kerbside patiently awaiting collection. And it’s the week that many of us return to work.
As 2007 really gets underway, it comes as no surprise that many of you have already booked your Year Ahead Readings or your Simple Truth Readings. But I have been surprised at how many of you told me of past experiences with psychics causing you to approach readings with feelings of trepidation, caution or outright fear of what the psychic might see. And so I found myself wondering,
Is being psychic enough to be a psychic?
We live in a time when psychics have become mainstream. Corporations, police and even governments consider clairvoyance as another tool at their disposal. More of us than ever before consult psychics on life’s most pressing issues ranging from love and money to work and soul purpose. And so it’s no surprise that the psychic profession is experiencing something of a boom.
Society’s acceptance along with the law of supply and demand means that more and more people are hanging out there shingle offering psychic services. But is it enough to be able to perceive and process information through the so-called sixth sense to call yourself a psychic? To me, there’s more to it than that.
Naturally a psychic needs to be accurate, hopefully more often than the average weather forecaster. Whereas a meteorologist studies past patterns and current trends to advise us on whether it’s going to rain or shine tomorrow, psychics rely on their clairvoyant impressions, both for confirmation of past events as well as future predictions. We all know that the weatherman gets it wrong from time to time. And psychics are no different. But I would say that a good psychic gets it right in the region of 80% of the time.
To be sure, making a prediction that comes true is important. But how that prediction is offered to the client is equally important. Sometimes psychics can more or less guarantee their own predictions by convincing their client that it will come to pass. As such, the client makes it true through something of a self-fulfilling prophecy. This isn’t something a psychic worth their salt would ever dream of doing.
Psychics should never remove the element of choice from their clients. In other words, a psychic should never take the decision for their clients. The future isn’t carved in stone and we are the authors of our own fate. Free will can always trump destiny. And so, a competent psychic will advise their client on how to make the best of whatever is seen. Negative events can be turned into positive ones. Problems can blossom into opportunities when properly laid out.
A competent psychic won’t ask you a lot of questions either before or even during the reading. If you’ve had a reading with me, then you’ll know I prefer only to have the barest of information to go on. A name together with a date of birth serves as a cosmic ID card that should enable a psychic to connect with the client’s energy. I recall a reading I recently had myself. As soon as I sat down, I was immediately asked where I lived, my occupation and whether I was seeing anyone romantically – all answers to be supplied BEFORE the reading had even started. Needless to say, I won’t be recommending that psychic!
The job of the psychic, like that of the therapist or even lawyer, is one of trust and confidence. Accordingly, anyone who reads for another should do so with sensitivity, integrity and compassion. And being apprised of their forecast alongside their options, the client should leave the reading feeling enlightened, empowered and uplifted.
If you’ve had a bad experience with a psychic in the past, then perhaps you should be more selective in the future of those you allow to read for you. Personal recommendation is without a doubt best. But in the absence of one, try to identify someone who has experience and who, as much as you can tell, knows what they are doing.
It can be difficult recovering from a bad reading. But do try not to let one rotten apple spoil the whole barrel. Fortunately, my clients this past week were willing to give going to a psychic a chance again. They left understanding that there’s definitely more to this psychic than just being psychic.
At the moment, it’s my Year Ahead Reading that seems to be most in demand with clients. This is where I look at what the next 12 months hold in store for you with in-depth, month-by-month analysis of what will be happening, where you'll be and who will be there. Many of my clients consider it their essential reading whatever the time of year!
And my new Simple Truth Reading has proved to be a real hit! If you’re new to psychic readings or just want it short and sweet, then this is the reading for you.
As always, feel free to email me with any comments, suggestions or feedback on PsychicBridges.
Thanks again for all your support and until next week,
Kindest regards,
