A recent trip to London has confirmed what I’ve been hearing from news reports as well as from my clients. The Christmas buying frenzy is well underway. The Kings Road was a sea of shoppers. Regent Street was practically at a standstill. And I had to take friends at their word when it came to Oxford Street. Enchanting though it may be with its festive lights, the thought of trying to make my way through the madding crowds of that famous thoroughfare was more than I could bear.

For so many of us, trying to do something kind and generous for a loved one has become one of the most stressful things that we can do. But it needn’t be that way. So join me – make a commitment to yourself to keep this Christmas shopping experience fun, exciting and above all easy.

For me it’s going to be a year of homemade goodies from the smallholding with a sprinkling of presents from the skilled artisans of northern Spain. And what I cannot make myself or buy after a stroll down the village high street, I will find online.
