Your Psychic Says... by Alan Bridges

Monday 5 January 2009

  Alan Bridges is PsychicBridges
Let's learn the lesson, pick ourselves up and MOVE ON!

Here's our topic — let's discuss in Psychic Chat!

I am a firm believer in trying to see what life is teaching at any one moment. I have always felt that – for better or for worse – I have been responsible for what’s happened in my life. Now that’s not to say that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, under a blue moon or having had a ticket to easy street slipped in my pocket.

The short and sweet of it is that I have always tried to make the best of whatever situation I found myself in. I’ve made good decisions. I’ve made bad decisions. I’ve even embarrassed myself – very publicly at times. But no matter what, I’ve pulled myself up by my bootstraps with the belief that tomorrow is another day.

To be sure, I have my fans. But I also have those people who are ready to try to trip me up or point out the slightest mistake on my site as if I was trying to con the world. Even some of my friends – not to mention relatives – haven’t been able to fully stand by me since I crossed a line in doing spooky stuff on a full-time basis.

But you know what? I have coped. I’ve dealt with it. And I am stronger because of it.

Right now as we begin 2009 we are bombarded with stories about how awful things are. Yes, it’s far from ideal. Indeed, it’s pretty bad for some. But does that mean that we have to buy in to all that doomsday pontificating and prognosticating?

I have recently started to limit the news that I am allowing myself to read or listen to. It’s just too depressing. Am I sticking my head in the sand? I don’t think so. I rather see it as simply starting to be a bit more selective in what I allow in to my world.

Every time we read or hear a news piece about another family who has been evicted or about another bank that seems not to understand that it’s OUR money that they are now sitting on in their vaults, we give a little bit of our energy to that story, event or situation. We plug into it – in a very literal way I believe. Give too much of yourself away and you will start to feel the drain. Not good.

Instead what I advocate is for all of us in these tough times to start to appreciate that we ALWAYS have choices and we ALWAYS have options. We might not like them. In fact, we may wish we had a different pot to draw from. But as my old granny used to say, “You are where you are. So then, what are you going to do now?”

Too many of us are looking for quick-fixes. We want to turn our situations around just like that. For some, it is possible. For others, it’s going to take some time. More than that, it’s going to take an acceptance that it’s no longer business as usual.

So many people come to me for insights on how to improve their lives. Too frequently, however, it’s clear from the moment I connect with their energy that what they want is someone to blame and someone to absolve them of any ownership of their troubles.

Take a long, hard look at whatever your situation. Why are you there? What has led you there? And what on earth are you supposed to take from it? It might sound like a truism, but what I am certain of is that we are doomed to repeat the lessons we fail to learn.

As we begin 2009, I encourage you to begin thinking about the person you would like to be and the life that such a person would have. Brainstorm. Daydream. Then write out a little mission statement and a few rules (no more than five at most) that this person would live by. Take that list and post it on your computer, stick it on your fridge and place it by your bed. Look at it often and keep asking yourself whether you are living by those rules.

This is the bit that only you can do. No-one else can or will do it for you. But there is part of this that I can help you with. Remember what I was saying about the lessons? When I read for clients, I tune into their energies and see their lives unfold in my mind. The issues, the challenges and the struggles play out like a soap opera. I then interpret it symbolically and offer my insights as to what the lesson is and how they can master it to move forward.

It might only be the first step. But as they say, the first step is the hardest one to take. If you are wondering why you are where you are or how to resolve a situation to the best outcome, then perhaps I can assist. Have a look at my readings or consider a one-on-one Intuitive Life Coaching Session. Or perhaps a Year Ahead Reading might be what you need to get an objective, detached but psychic analysis of what’s to come.

And this week over at IntuitiveBridges, I consider what it means to be in present time. It is — believe it or not — the key to everything. Read my article in full here!

As always, feel free to email me with any comments, suggestions or feedback on PsychicBridges. And don’t forget to join me and the rest of the PsychicBridges community in the Psychic Chat forums!

Thanks again for all your support and until next week,

Kindest regards,

Alan
