Messages from Michael Jackson?
Not from me – not now and highly unlikely in the future!
Here's our topic — let's discuss in Psychic Chat!
Let me begin this week by stating that you are unlikely ever to hear me report any spirit communication from Michael Jackson. It’s not happened yet and I don’t think it will – well, not to me at least. Still I have to say that I knew it was only a matter of time (2 days in fact) before mediums from around the world were passing on supposedly authentic beyond-the-grave messages from the King of Pop.
To be sure, Michael Jackson’s untimely death took us all by surprise. While I had predicted amongst friends that the London concerts wouldn’t take place, I have to say hand on heart that I didn’t see this one coming. No-one did. What’s happened since his death, however, was much more predictable.
These days it seems like Michael is grabbing more column inches in death than he did in life. His albums are flying off the shelves in record numbers. Gargantuan internet-retailer Amazon actually ran out of his CDs at one point. eBay is abuzz with the trade in memorabilia. And now, reports are coming in thick and fast about claims that psychics – from the famous to those who wish they were – have connected with the spirit of this talented but equally troubled soul.
The actual messages being relayed are as varied as the psychics ranging from the comforting (“Michael is at peace.”) to the confessional (“Michael admits being an alien.”) Am I saying that the messages are fraudulent or that these psychics are lying? No, I am not. Let me say that again – I have no way of knowing whether these claims are real or not. All I can do is view such claims through the prism of my own experiences with spirit communication as well as with human nature.
The way it works (in my experience) is that we start with the premise that a part of the person survives after death. In other words, when the body gives up the ghost (pun intended), that’s not it. The spirit of the deceased not only lives on but can be contacted. This kind of communication with the spirits of those who have passed on is one of the key beliefs of the religion called Spiritualism.
During a Spiritualist church service, there is time allocated to what is called a “demonstration”. This is when a medium stands up before the congregation and offers messages to those in attendance. The kinds of messages range from the general (“I’m in a better place now.”) to the specific (“Stop looking for my will as it’s in the left-hand drawer of the dresser.”). But not all messages are delivered in such public forums. Spiritualist mediums also give readings (known as “sittings”) in private as well.
The aim of the medium to provide “evidential messages”. After all, the messages that come through are to be considered “evidence” of life after death. Yet, we have to remember that the medium doesn’t actually contact the dead per se. Instead, the medium acts much as a radio, tuning into the various stations. Like a radio, the communication is one way. And like a radio, the listener doesn’t determine what the station plays.
In short, what comes through is what comes through. Yes, it’s true that any spirit may come through with any message. But, in my experience, spirits generally come through, via the medium or psychic, to people with whom they had direct contact in the physical world, such as close family or friends.
I neither knew Michael Jackson nor did I have a connection with him in any other way that would give him reason to come through to me. Additionally, I have yet to read for someone who did have such a link to him. Maybe someday I will read for such a person. However, as is the case with any reading I do, what happens in the reading stays between me and the client and will not form the basis of a press release.
Some of the psychics claiming communication with Jackson’s spirit are those whom I have considered genuine and authentic and as such I have to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, there are others out there who are probably jumping on a rather distasteful bandwagon for publicity. Such is human nature.
Michael Jackson was a great artist with a phenomenal presence. When I hear his songs, I am immediately transported back to my youth and teenage years when his songs would summon me to the dance floor. So, you might say that I did in a way have an intense emotional bond with his music.
What’s taking place since Michael’s death reminds me of the events after Princess Diana died and the outpouring of grief displayed around the world then. All of us felt a connection. All of us grieved in our own way. And I cannot help but wonder whether these psychics aren’t somehow misinterpreting and mistaking these intensely deep feelings of their own mortality with messages from beyond the grave.
When I started giving readings professionally and full-time, my mentor told me that the most important thing was to maintain one’s integrity. To this day, this remains so important to me. When I give a reading, I say what I’m getting when I get it. Equally, if I’m not getting it, I say so. If you’ve ever had a reading with me, then you’ll know that I tell it like it is – nothing more, nothing less.
If you’ve never had a reading like that, then perhaps it’s time that you booked a reading with me. Check out my range of psychic services here. A reading with me could bring the answers, advice and insight that have been eluding you for far too long.
Please join me in my Psychic Chat forums and let’s get the discussion flowing. Tell me what you think about how chatty Michael Jackson has become since becoming a spirit.
And finally this week over at IntuitiveBridges, I encourage my readers to take a hard look at how they spend their time. Time is a precious resource. Do you use it wisely? Or do you waste it? You need to read my article here!
As always, feel free to contact me with any comments, suggestions or feedback on PsychicBridges.
