Clairvoyance — You have to see it!
Here's our topic — let's discuss in Psychic Chat!
It’s definitely summertime here in Spain. The vegetable patch and orchard are pumping out enough food to feed a small army. The village fiestas abound, complete with fireworks and bagpipes. The usually quiet roads are struggling to cope with the annual invasion of the Madrid crowd escaping up north to enjoy the mountains and beaches. And it’s hot!
No, it’s true that this isn’t the hottest part of Spain. But still temperatures rise to the point that between mid-morning and early evening, the goal is to stay cool, which is best achieved by not moving much. In such times, I’m quite partial to chatting with friends over an ice-cold bottle of the local tipple, cider.
Lately one question has come up with sufficient frequency that I thought I would address it here as it’s also one that comes up during readings and coaching sessions.
What is clairvoyance?
We’ve all heard of ESP or the so-called “sixth sense”. No doubt we’ve heard the story of a mother getting a flash of a child on the ground crying and a second later she gets a call from the school that little Johnny has fallen off the seesaw. Hollywood has given us some out-of-this-world portrayals of clairvoyants who seem to suffer visions that are thrust upon them leaving them debilitated if not flat-out paralysed for the duration of the clairvoyant episode.
The first example is closer to the mark and fits more with my own experience of everyday clairvoyance in the readings I give my clients. The Hollywood version is something that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. Personally speaking, I have never had one of those film-style visions – and hope I never do! So, is clairvoyance a vision? Well, clairvoyance actually means “clear seeing”. And this kind of vision involves seeing – kind of.
To many, clairvoyance simply refers to the ability to perceive information through means other than the conventional five senses. In other words, clairvoyance refers to gleaning information that wouldn’t otherwise be available or apparent. For me, however, this definition is a bit too broad and as such could lead to confusion. I prefer to tighten it.
I consider clairvoyance to be all about sight. But I’m not referring to the sight that comes from the eyes. It’s a different kind of sight. To be sure, it’s a world of visions and images. It’s just that these visions and images aren’t perceived by or generated by the eyes. Instead, you have to go inside for clairvoyance.
The seat of one’s clairvoyance is the world behind the eyes. It’s the same world where you “see” memories, or imagine or visualise. It’s exceedingly rare for the eyes to be involved in clairvoyance. Sight is a physical sense. Clairvoyance is a metaphysical ability that lies inside the mind.
Some of you might be thinking that this sounds a lot like visualisation. It’s similar, yet different. Clairvoyance and visualisation share the same “screen” on which you “see” the images. But visualisation is an active process. With visualisation, you project images on your screen with your intention. With clairvoyance, it’s completely passive and much more subtle – despite what Hollywood would have you believe.
Practically speaking, the way clairvoyance works most frequently with a reading is that the psychic focuses and clears his mind in such a way that information can come through in response to questions.
When I’m reading for someone, I pose my client’s question and I sit back and wait for the information to come through. More often than not, what I “see” is in the form of images on that mental screen, because images form the language of the mind. Sometimes I see numbers or written messages, often as clear as a photo or picture, but mainly it’s objects, locations or symbols.
What I “see” won’t necessarily mean anything to me. Still, my job is to decode the pictures, images and symbols by interpreting and integrating them with all my other impressions into a meaningful reading for my client.
So, clairvoyance doesn’t necessarily mean someone shuddering dramatically, closing his eyes and having a blindingly sharp vision, all in a very photogenic way. Instead, for me at least, it’s normally just another helpful psychic tool I use when I’m reading for my clients.
Have you ever had a clairvoyant reading? If you’ve never had a clairvoyant reading with me, check out the range of readings I offer here. Then, read through the comments and feedback from those I’ve read for here. Perhaps a reading with me is just what you’ve been missing. Perhaps the answer lies in that world behind my eyes!
